ABP is committed to promote a socially responsible program which will initiate a high level of impact on environmental sustainability while performing economically sound methods and profitable returns to the organization and the public.
OUR MISSION
- Renovate existing plant buildings and align with LEED standards on constructing Green facilities.
- Innovate best practices on energy and water conservation.
- Reduce amount of planet pollution by utilization of low weight preforms and short closures.
- Continue to promote recycling program on PET, aluminum and paper products to customers.
- Implement partially recycled packaging materials' use in the plants in secondary packaging.
- Venture in natural power generating devices.
OUR GOAL
ABP has set for itself a very ambitious target of reducing WATER, ENERGY and FUEL consumption by 20-25% over the next 5 years.
ACHIEVEMENTS
ABP had progressively improved its Environmental Sustainability methods by applying scientific solutions and investing state of the art tools for tracking and managing water consumption and energy. We also partnered with global leaders in process development, design and providing us with technical support in water and energy saving technology.
- WATER SAVINGS
- Overall savings of about 35 million liters of water and conserved 25% in power consumption since year 2007.
- The new Aquafina plant facility operates with a very low level of waste water and may be defined as “positive water balance” operation.
- ALUMINUM & PET RECYCLING
- Scrapped aluminum and metal cans are collected and resent to the manufacturer for recycling.
- Usage of 5-10% lower weight preforms.
- ENERGY SAVINGS
- 60% of the plant's total indoor areas are equipped with skylight roofing.
- Installed power saving devices in high voltage equipments.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PLANS
We will continue to explore innovative methods and solutions in energy efficiency, water conservation and responsible packaging initiatives programs that will drive higher standards towards environmental protection.
